No Parking, No parking on streets at access points

I’m guessing non residents can’t park at tud hope anymore.I was there in the summer and had no issues

Well then they can stick their Perch Derby where the sun don't shine.

Sounds like a paid parking pass per year or reasonable daily rate is the solution. Not some sky high daily rate and no option to get a yearly pass.

I mean I hate paying for parking but it seems city or country town I have to pay for parking. At least if the use the proceeds to add garbage cans at lake entrances and maintain them I think most people would deem that acceptable. Also they could ramp up bylaw enforcement to the few loonies that litter use their machines to dig ruts speed and make excessive noise.

Also Punishing a business due to a city policy is probably doing nothing other then killing whatever made in Canada is left. If you haven't noticed the government and cities don't seem to care for those businesses all that much. At least if they are not listed on a stock exchange lol.

We buy the $10 Scoops of Minnows, Coffee & Snacks with expensive Tackle and Dinner on the way Home as well.
Can't see not wanting us up there every weekend beneficial to Local Business?
I have no issue with an annual Permit to park anywhere up there as long as it is not crazy expensive?

I always thought veterans served all Canadians not cheering the exclusive reward coupons that discriminate against the rest of the civilians????

Lake Simcoe is a public resource and should have public access created to ensure the we can continue to access the resource if the once used points are no longer suitable due to resident complaints. A small parking fee to support those access points would be reasonable.

What is happening is the slow creation of a private resource hidden under the guise of "noise and garbage" complaints. Those issues are easily dealt with via by-law enforcement etc.

What I would like to see is a list of businesses that have stood up and championed for public access and against the ongoing closure of access points and in return those businesses should be supported by those who travel into the region. The free market can then take care of the rest.

Im Not paying a dime to park and fish simcoe. Total BS !

Says nothing about local or non local. As far as I know you can park at Tudhope after 7 am as it is in Orillia.

Fisherman I am debt to you for finding this....Ronzigator thank you for helping with the link.....I am handicapped in three ways (my wife would say 4 and possibly 5....lol) and do have a permanent sticker and this for me is the difference of a walk I really am not capable of doing.....thank you a beer is owed here.

I have read the same thing. I may take a drive over in the next day or two to see if anything is actually posted.

I know the streets (near the lake) in Orillia were posted this past summer, but not last winter. Hopefully those signs have been removed for this winter.

Imagine being mad that the troops who are willing to do a job the vast majority of Canadians never would voluntarily do, get a little token of appreciation. Imagine that. It is quite funny how after Nov 11th Veterans seem to go by the way side, people only give a crap once a year sadly it sometimes seems.

Edit: Forgot to say, these perks are also free and available for you, the military has been on a recruiting blitz since I got in over 5 years ago. If you cant commit to a whole career change, the reserves gives you the option of part time service. All of these "exclusive reward coupons" can easily be had by you! But, from what ive seen, the only people ever to complain about perks that serving members and vets get are those who would never strap a pair of boots on.

Now, this may sound blunt and uncaring, and that is not my intention, but from the direction the discussion is headed, what started as a cry of unity for all fisherman to preserve our right to enjoy a public amenity, now sounds like "I'm a vet, I found a way". Emphasis on I, not US

So I think Omcdinosaur was attempting to convey that we should try to continue including all fisherman in whatever solution is to be found (if any). Which i also support.



All that said, if you have friends (and these friends can be of all kinds) that will accept to let you move in (even if don't actually move in) you would be entitled to a resident permit. And i know i would gladly share a $50 bottle of Johnny with such a friend. Now, if we all could only find such friends. Did i say too much already?

This isn't 1980. It would take someone with access only a few minutes to scope out your 'residential' status through these things we call computers. If you are 18, go for it, but if you have an established life then chances are all of your bills, taxes, etc are going to your actual residence. Unless you are willing to change the residential information for your entire life (drivers license, health card, etc), it sounds like a lot of hassle for not a lot of payback.
