Good day folks!
Well the annual trip went well all things considered. No issues with travelling. Decent weather Friday - nice sunny day.
Since we didn't bring the sled (ironically is snowed Thursday night, would have been perfect) because of the questionable ice (which was also fine in Cooks bay after a cold Thurs night) we walked out of Gilford and picked a spot that looked good on navionics and seemed to be in line with the cooks bay marina huts.
We did well for numbers, just not for size.
I caught close to 50 on the day my gf about half that.
Biggest was in the 8 inch range. A few came through the hole that we considered keeping but we chose to let them all swim back.
It was just nice to get out. We have 0 ice down here so it was out only trip this year.
Thanks for all the help again!
Next year probably going to move spots on the lake over to where Taj operates I think.

glad you had a good time
next year pm me on other locations. I have noting against cooks bay at all and somedays you can slam big ones there, but i have always considered it a nursery for lots of fish
there are many good operators there as well, but evet since the parking issues started, unfortunately I felt it was time to move to other parts of the lake

Glad your trip worked out. It's always nice to get some tips from fellow fisherman. I just got back from Nipissing for the first time and did a lot of leg work myself. Unfortunately got skunked. Going back to make up for this trip! Next time there WILL BE FISH!

I’ve only been to the port bolster area for perch a couple times but each time there wasn’t a perch in sight. And that was around the hut operators out there , perhaps I was just unlucky those days.
