Hey guys,

Long time reader, and first time poster....lol

So I would love to get my girlfriend a great pair of boots for the up coming ice fishing season. I find all sorts of great looking boots at TSC and places like that, but I cant find anything under a men's size 7. She's a mens size 6 or more then likely a 5.

I'm sure lots of guys on here have girlfriends or wives that snowmobile and enjoy the outdoors in the winter. Where do you find boots for them and any suggestions on a brand or model of boot would be great too!! I am talking BIG, knee high, can hardly walk in them kind of winter boots. You know what I mean.

Thanks guys!!!!!!

I would try Royal Distributing. They have tons of boots. Also heated socks and boot soles. Good luck.

I had checked the Mark's website as well as just about every other place I could think of........then backwoodsmanbob says to try Royal Distributing!!! It would seem they have what I'm looking for at a decent price!!

Why didn't I think of that?!

If you don't have any luck finding them, my husband bought a pair of boots at Sail last year and said they are the best boots he has ever had. He use to complain about cold feet all the time but not now. They were made by Baffin and I think they were rated at -60°. They also had ladies models so I'm thinking of getting a pair as well even though I just bought a pair last year.

Baffins are what I'm getting her. They claim to be rated at -100 and retail for about $140. If they don't do the trick....... I guess I'll just start looking for a new girlfriend.

Thanks everyone!!

Yes, you need to keep the feet dry. I would suggest two pairs of socks. The inner pair can be quite light but must not be made of anything that holds moisture. (Cotton is the absolute worst fabric to have next to your skin.) I've found polypropylene (sp?) ones from Mark's Work Wearhouse to work best. They wick the moisture away from the skin without absorbing any. The outer socks should be a high quality wool combo such as RedHead which can be found at BassPro as well as others I'm sure. The RedHead's are not cheap but you will never have to buy replacements. You get what you pay for.

I saw battery heated socks at Mark's while I was there last night. I have also seen heated insoles for your boots that work with a remote control. At Mark's I bought a pair of socks for my girlfriend by T-max Heat. They look like they will be CRAZY warm....but 10 bucks a pair.

I have the Tmax Heat socks. They are awesome. Never get cold feet.
Cheers!
