Hey guys,
My hut operator just canceled on me this weekend so I was thinking of heading up with my own gear. Any suggestions for a place that I can park either near Callander Bay or South Shore that I could walk out with my kid and gear? Up to a 1km walk is probably ideal.
Thanks for any feedback!

Like you, I am looking to walk out on my own in the next week or so. I haven't been to Nipissing in quite a few years but now that I've moved less than an hour away I do plan on fishing that lake more. Last time I was there was probably 6 or 7 years ago and we parked at the public boat launch in Callander and walked out to where the huts were. It was less than a km walk if I remember right. We set up our portables and fished all day then stay at Terrace Suites for a couple nights and fish the same area each day. I think they even had parking available on the main road through town. I'm not sure if parking at the launch or on the street is still available but I m going to give it a try soon.
