Hey guys, please pardon my ignorance. Since I didn't grow up around frozen bodies of water, what exactly does it mean to "spud"? in the video below, is that the small metal pole with the little yellow ice shovel on it?

If you are spudding make sure you have a good lanyard on it and that the lanyard is wrapped around your wrist. Otherwise you will have to buy a new spud real quick.

I just did a quick search on YouTube. I didn’t find any updated ice reports for cooks bay. Hopefully someone will post tomorrow with the cold temps through out the day and tonight!
