Looking forward to being my boys out ice fishing again. We have always gone out at Gilford (last season was our 1st season)

Are there other good areas to bring kids on Simcoe? Any place more sheltered for wind etc or site fishing?

Virginia Beach is great for sight fishing because its up to 12 ft deep.

Unfortunately the one hut operator last season didn't cut out a rectangular hole in the hut for effective sight fishing. Instead they drilled 5 x 8" holes.

Travel to the east side. Towns seem to be more friendly, more parking available

Thanks everyone! In terms of sheltered, I just meant less windy. We have a portable hut but the kids like to be outside.

I wasn’t sure if some of the areas posted above tend be a little more sheltered from the wind.

no such thing as less windy on simcoe, try to pick a milder day with little to no wind, it does happen once in a while!
