Hey guys, Got a real sweet deal on one of these for $400 BNIB. was wondering if they're any good, its not the sides scan model, but is the DI. Not really familiar with DI, was wondering how useful it is or weather its just a useless feature, has navionics maps on it wich is a plus. Im running a striker 4 plus right now, good for ice fishing but useless in summer. Almost thinking like spending that $400 on more and better gear, What do you guys think?

Hey there I’m not sure about Di but I have the humminbird g2 gps and I love it for ice fishing. Definitely way better then striker. Once you use it you will like it. By the way 400 sounds like an amazing deal where did you get it ?

I have a Helix 10 generation 2 with down and side imaging.....depending on what you target or want to see to me DI is more important than SI. For fish that school or to see structure up to 180 ft to the side if that is important to you so be it.....structure straight down may be all you want or need to see........in regards to are they any good....yes they are I( love its big brother and you will I am sure love the Helix 7.

I have the exact same unit. I love it. It is a great sonar and you got a good deal. I also converted mine to ice fishing with the proper transducer. I mounted mine to a genz box. It has an ice fishing setting with flasher mode as well .The DI is useful at times to better see structure also i have seen what looks like weeds on 2d sonar when I switch to DI I noticed it is an actual school of fish in my case was likely bluegill. I use my navionics all the time to stay on contours and that was an extra $200.
