Parking concern. Petition?

The high cost of parking is ridiculous . It costs less to park to attend a Leafs or Raptors game in downtown Toronto .

if there is no public access to a lake then stop all stocking programs! we pay for the fish in these lakes with our license fees, if we cant fish the lake then STOP putting in PUBLIC fish! this goes for all lakes even the small back lakes that are all private now!

last word! if you know a access spot to park for free on a lake so you can fish and actually catch a fish, Then shut the F up and fish! don't tell your buddies and thier buddies dont post on youtube fb twits or instgrab. shut the f up and fish and hope the riffraf doesnt find this spot. done and done.

They have paid parking around Kempenfelt bay, so I'm not sure why people are complaining if this is the case. Maybe other access points that were free in the past are no longer available. But those access points are typically in people's communities and not a sanctioned place to park your vehicles in the first place.

The real problem here is that Barrie and most places around Simcoe have been cottage county in the past. Therefore, the lakefront has been totally gobbled up by residential lots. In the past, the influx of anglers has been low so having a few vehicles parked down a small road was never an issue. In 2020 when Toronto locked down, that all changed. Now we have the issue that residents do not want 10-20 cars parked down their street in their small neighbourhoods. How do we solve this? The only real way is to direct people to park at major parking lots, such as downtown Barrie and pay that $50/day parking fee.

Regardless the logic flows in your thinking, that's not the kind of attitude that will solve any problems anytime soon.

Count me in. I'll sign the petition as well. I am more than happy to pay a fair charge for parking but not having that option at all makes no sense. Hopefully we'll see some good ice this year to make parking on ice a safer alternative for the time being.

With all due respect but when you go to your doctor's office - or the hospital do you see resident only parking or locals park free nonresident pay $50.00?
We all pay taxes somewhere that goes to parking upkeep as you mention. This exclusionary policy is designed to prevent outof towners fron accessing the resource.
We all know parking fees are as sure as death and taxes however what is the problem is a N.I.M.B.Y. attidude thats developed in and around southern Lake Simcoe.
Although the area was once considered cottage country its been swallowed up by urban sprawel and as such conjestion comes with it.
Might be harsh but if you still want the cottage feel moving further away may be the answer and not p###### off your neighbours.

The implied result is to keep out-of-towners out of Simcoe. No policymakers have denied that because that is 100% the intended result. The super high parking fees are just saying 'Well if you really want to be here, by law we can't just tell you that you can't be here, so pay this stupid amount of money.'

The residents aren't complaining, just the out-of-towners; Therefore, in the eyes of the people who wanted this result, their policy has been executed successfully and they have increased revenue.

Complaining won't get anyone anywhere, because the towns and the residents are happy now. If someone really has the time and energy, they can start to translate their passion into action.

Sorry, I don't think so. I know that if we'll keep quite gonna be even worst and the rest of townships will close access for GTA people.

Haven't been out in a number of years but was planning on going to Gilford this week. Is there no place to park around Gilford and Beach Road anymore?
