Gilford today

Hit the ice just after 7.30, maybe 20 guys out there already and maybe 50 by the time I left at noon. Black ice all around 6 inches thick. Easy walking with only patches of bare ice. No need for a spud, even the shoreline was solid except for some slight heaving. One of the hut operators with the blue huts was starting to drag his out into the middle of Cooks = good sign. Managed several keepers with the biggest being 13 inches. Rook

Just did a drive by to the end of 89 and the shoreline is completely heaved up and there are open water patches all along it. Still a way to get on and off when I was there on one spot but I suggest you definitely bring a spud bar and some cleats. I did not check the end of Gilford rd.

Which hut operator was dragging out? Im looking to maybe make a trip up, want to run my sled, not really looking to walk. Hat couch, but may have to head there to not walk lol. Im now lazy and have walked to many times

not sure but they were blue and he was a bit south of straight out from Gilford, quite a ways out but not quite half way. I walked well past him to at least half way out, then down towards the mouth of the river and then back and the ice was consistent over all that distance. Rook
