I’ve never fished for Whities before, but I would like to try it if we get the ice this winter. So I’m wondering, what do you look for in a Whitefish rod? Power? Action? Length? Does that change with different techniques/lures? Thanks!

I normally use a 36 MH for bad boys or meegz 1/2oz plus for deeper water like 90'+ water, than i use Med for 60' or under (lighter jig) and med action for williams spoon.
if you use minnow than i would go for ML action with a jigger.

personal reference i dont like anything shorter than a 32". It seem shorter the rod has less feeling.

hope that help!
