Hey guys after this snow storm I'm sure the lake is cover in snow but we have some very strong wind would this blow the snow on top the ice?

strong winds wont be good for the ice if it is not fully frozen over. this will cause breakups.

I was just thinking the samething. No way to know for sure without heading out on the lake but I suspect the strong wind will likely result in some clear patches along with a lot of snow drifts.

My concern is the snow will form an insulating layer on areas where there was only a thin layer of ice - which will delay the formation of ice. This will be a real problem from a safety point-of-view and will require greater care when heading out on the ice for the foreseeable future.

I was wondering about places like Cooks Bay. The ice is established there, I assume. Does a dumping like we just got change anything? Does it blow off like the OP suggested? And most importantly, does changes in fronts like this make the fish more aggressive?
