Been loving the great reviews and comments on SSIC. I have a large hut at my camp on nosbonsing but the roof collapsed and haven't got around to replacing it yet. So off to Nippissing i go!!
We are booked for feb 11 to 13th - 8 man hut
3/8 are newbies....and one has no plans of fishing at all (happy to cook and clean tho!!)
couple questions. does anyone have a "to bring" list for SSIC? just not 100 percent on whats there. ie plastic cutting board, large pot for an 8 man stew.
Yes i know there is a list on the site but im looking for the little things not mentioned. and for the opinions of previous customers and board members.
also, Is it frowned upon to bring my truck out to the hut? No real need to. just convenient.

They will let you know if you can bring your truck or not. Weather/Pressure crack dependent. 8 guys in an 8 man hut is gonna be tight. They have everything you need, their list is complete. Cheers

Covid has impacted things a bit regarding what’s available in the hut. You’ll find pots, pans, can opener, cutting board, towels, dish soap, garbage bags, radio, tv and a dishwashing tub.
Bring along plastic cutlery, kitchen knife, fillet knife, ladle spoon, spatula (metal for bbq use too), tin foil, zip-locks, quality toilet paper, paper towel, baby wipes, power banks (there is a battery in the hut with one plug available but for 8 guys make make sure you bring supplemental power if you have it), bluetooth speaker, paper plates/bowls, gatorade, salt/pepper, small piece of plywood for cutting minnows, playing cards (any other small travel games like sequence, kismet/yahtzee), electrical tape, zip ties, coffee percolator, big plastic chip/salad bowls, tongs, oil, fish crisp, sanitizer for in hut and bathroom, head lamps, water, rod holders… those are some items that come to mind when I’m packing for bungalow trips… do NOT forget your rods and tackle at home (happened to one of our guys this year lol).
I recommend oven dips, meals prepared in dollar store tin that can go into garbage after. Garbage is picked up daily, this will cut down on dishes and save more time for fishing.
This year we brought a fire stick and streamed the football games via DAZN over hotspot high speed wifi… just a thought… the TV’s in those bungalows do have HDMI.
As mentioned the huts run on battery power, not generators so don’t bring anything high voltage like a keurig, etc.
Space will be limited for you guys, we have done 7 in the 8 mans and it wasn’t terrible, but organization will be key. Best to bring totes that can stack to salvage floor space. Make good use of the storage beneath the bunks as well. Be especially careful not to drop anything in the hut because it will find its way down a hole with 8 hole covers off.
We took our truck to the hut this past weekend, just keep it away from the hut at this point with the ice thickness is all they ask.
Hopefully some of that helped for you, or other groups heading up.
