Hey Y'all,
I would not consider myself a handyman by any means. If I can do this, I know there are many of you out there who can do it better. Having said that, I'm proud of how this turned out. It's simple and I think it's useful. The best thing is I didn't have to buy a single thing, I just used whatever was in the house.
In case you are interested, I used:
1) the smallest of the Magnum Nested (ammo) Storage Box.
2) I drilled holes and used zip ties (not screws) for securing the fish finder and the cup for ice transducer.
3) As mentioned in #2, I used a cheap plastic cup from Ikea. Drilled couple of holes, lined it up with the ammo box, marked the hole with a sharpie on to the ammo box, and then drilled couple of holes onto the ammo box. Threaded the zip tie from inside the ammo box around the 2 holes in the cup and back into the ammo box, tighten and then cut.
4) Had an old rod holder that I wasn't using. It has "thingamajiggy" that goes inside the box and then I put the rod through the hole and screwed it into the "thingamajiggy" and tightened it on the outside with the wing nut.
5) Lastly, I cut out some foam from old packaging and wedged the battery in between. It fits snug and the battery does not move around.
