FYI No fishing - January 1 to Friday after the second Saturday in May and November 16 to December 31 Gull River - Coboconk in Bexley and Somerville Townships, from Trent-Severn Dam downstream to narrows approaching Balsam Lake

Rayray, if your going to comment make sure you get your facts straight. Pike is open all year in Balsam.

Yes they are but what I posted was in reference to you saying "coby". Which i assume means Coboconk. That whole area is a fish sanctuary for those dates.

Not just Balsam, pike is open in all Z17. No Species exception. Other exceptions for fishing (as per RayRay), not just specific to pike, would be found under Waterbodies & Fish Sanctuaries.

The two go hand in hand. Like I said just an FYI for you fishing up in Coby. Make sure to check the exceptions for the lakes you fish.

I don't think Rosedale really ever freezes lol, but it might be a bit before more of the lake is open. And that Coboconk sanctuary is just for the Trent canal outside of Balsam, its not for the actual lake. Theres no fish sanctuary on Balsam.
