Got out Saturday walking out from Lefroy and had perch coming thru steady until 2pm, then it slowed down. They were biting pretty good all day but they would come in fast and inspect it first before biting. Once I had about a dozen in the bucket for fish tacos, I started using spoons/slab grabbers to see if I could get some jumbos. I managed to get a few 10" on the slab grabber but did not see any bigger ones come thru. I used my Aquavu to watch the action as it unfolded beneath the ice. I was surprised how many perch were up high just under the ice cruising. I was really enjoying all the action because last Sunday I walked out from Guilford and had a very slow day with a few hours with no fish moving thru at all. I managed to scrape a dozen 5-7" for fish tacos. They were delicious as always. The walk out of Lefroy was better than I expected as I followed the tracks out (that compressed the snow) and then used snow shoes to stay on top of the fresh snow which was crusty on top. I had 6-7" of clear ice. Hope to track some jumbos next week. Good luck out there!
