Arrived at Callander Bay on Friday the 21st of Jan and began fishing by 4:00 pm. Picked off two pickeral and missed three others. Bite was on between 5:15 and 6:00 pm. Not a tickle until the next day at 3:15 when we brought in a slot size walleye. Again it was 5:00 pm when we caught a second eater. Released 5 additional undersized and kept one perch. Bite again only lasted less than an hour.
Not disappointed with the action. I think weather had something to do with it. So windy we couldn't set dead sticks outside the rental shack.

I was out yesterday and what a mess.
Agree the bite turned on at 5pm but only two small guys. From 2pm nothing and then at 5pm bang bang within minutes then nothing else.
My first try with my new pop up and I couldn't get it folded down to put in back in the bag for the life in me, plus the cold so if anyone saw some poor fool carrying a tent out and pulling a sled that was me.
I was destroyed only to discovered a rod was missing so grab a flashlight and head all the way back out. Just what my body needed.
I did practice before I left and it went up easy but getting it folded right to put in the bag in the house is a whole lot different than on a cold lake in the dark plus add a nice wind chill.
My problem is finding the deep water, Navionics is that even right? I'm sure it says I should be in 18-20 and it's 13ft. I keep going farther and farther but I think my next toy needs to be some wheels for the ice.
My knee is feeling it my chest has a pulled muscle but will I be out again, you freaking bet!!!

Fisherman 2280. I feel your pain. That's why I bought the snowdog. It may not be fast, but it's easy to transport, and gets me onto the lake.
