Funny! I take all that fits and change and change and only catch on the usual...three lures anyways. Lol really depends on amount of species that could be targeted, ongst many other variables.

Of course way more than needed but for the just in case...which is usually like the 1 time out of about 20 (and then you have evidence to say to the wife, "see, I told you so")...but have been getting better in recent years as I get wiser (or lazier or just less stamina) with age to carry so much out there with me for the just in case moments

I used to have large tackle boxes back in the day. But realized that I will only use a select few lures when fishing, depending on the species.

I've settled on a system of small clear plastic tackle boxes and sorting them depending on targetted species.

I'll have a few for lakers/whites, one for bass, one for pike, 2-3 for salmon. Whatever I'm targeting, I'll just take the boxes I need and leave the rest at home.

Something like this: Attached Image

I have qn unholy amount of lures. Always bring far more than necessary. 99% of the time I end up using a jig and a minnow.

How you fish it often outweighs what your fishing with.

Arnie, I keep seeing your profile pic with your salmon. Do you like to salmon fish a lot? Is that your boat?

I take them all (about 60) because you know they’ll bit on the one you didn’t bring. But in reality I seem to get all bits on the same four or five lures every year. I think we view lots of lures as a security blanket. Lol

For the ice I have now boiled mine down quite a bit and it's nearly always a minnow with hook and sinker that produces better than anything else. Still a few 'just in case' ,'maybe this will get them to bite' jigs though

Summer fishing---different story!
