I was out from Government Dock on Kemp today, walking was not terrible but wasn't easy either. A few inches of snow on top in most of the area, some packed snow, and most interestingly, on some spots there is thin ice on top, then a layer of water and then ice again. The final ice is only about 6" thick. I was out about 1/4 mile from the shore.

Some sleds, but mostly walkers. I wouldn't recommend ATV's. Fishing was slow
Caught a tiny whitefish at 45', nothing at 100', and some perch at 20'
Seen many schools of whitefish/cisco swimming around the 45' mark, so thick that my lure was disappearing on the sonar when it hit the schools.

Here's the baby

Yes, the ice is not great even on the south shore. I tried to go out from Willow Beach area. The thickness of the ice is good......buy travelling can be a nightmare. Frozen chunks of ice... ....jigged ice ...looks like shark fins sticking up.......walking is very difficult. Also going with ATV is difficult. There is a trail going out ......but is you want to venture off the trail ......can be a nightmare!!

Wednesday ....Thursday....big snowfall coming to this area......going with Quads can be difficult!

Yup, the weather is calling for up to 20cm of snow by Friday. Definitely won't make travelling on ice any easier.

Yeah, when you see thousands of them swimming around it gives you hope for the future. Don't know if they are stocked or natural production, but either way I am happy to see them.
