Well made it up to camp again this past week end to wire up the cabin for generator power. I am lucky enough that the fellow who does all the electrical for us on the farm has a son who works for him that was up for an adventure! He looked after everything we needed and I made sure groceries were done, the snowmobiles were fuelled and loaded up and the ice fishing stuff was packed. Long days and nights! But man it turned out amazing. LED pot lights, plugs, front porch lights, light for the wood shed, and even a light for inside the outhouse! A nice panel connecting everything and a nice outdoor plug on the outside of the cabin to just simply plug in the generator to the panel inside. Everything done in BX because you know. MICE!

Friday morning by far was the coldest morning. I heard rumours of -35 from the locals. Wood in the wood stove every 2.5 hours to stay warm in a non insulated cabin at night while trying to get sleep! Lol. Couldn’t even scratch the ice off the inside of the windows with my finger nails in the morning. The next few days were way better. Actually couldn’t of asked for a nicer weekend. Lessened were learned just leave the dang generator running all night so the fan on the wood stove would blow the hot air around.

Skipped out on Saturday afternoon for an hour sled ride north of the cabin into a lake for some brookies. A new lake that I had never been to so it was a fun little adventure. Especially with some one who had never driven a snowmobile or ice fished in his life. Let’s just say he was awe struck all week end. Bonus…. very little slush on the lake. Man it’s been a long time since ice fishing was this easy! The pictures will speak for themselves.

Panel nicely done, light diagram for when tongue and groove pine goes up and I know where to find all the lights.

Nice looking brook trout and a bonus you have a camp close by lake.
Loks like your running a bearcat sled with the auger box and mount on the back almost the same setup as me.

Wow, that's got to be expensive.

I remodeled 2 camps in my life and just made sure to seal every joint with caulking so those little bastards couldn't get into the walls.

Seemed to work too cuz never really had problems with mice after I was done.

For the extra 400 bucks to go with BX instead of regular wire well worth it to me. There are a few things you don’t screw around with. Electrical being one of them. You should of seen the chew marks in the old wiring before we gutted the inside! But yes doing everything under the sun to keep those little buggers out!

Wooden box out of a scrap piece of 3/4 plywood laying around on the farm. Hole drilled in bottom with straps to hold power unit for auger. Playing around with it in wood form and change as needed and then once it’s the way I like it I will get one built to the same specs in diamond plated aluminum. Toboggan’s suck in the bush. If it doesn’t fit in the box it doesn’t come with! Lol
