Anyone using a Ryobi drill with auger?

Considering the P251 model as it has 750lbs of torque.. The wife also has 10 battery's for ryobi and most of the those are 4ah batteries..
Just wondering if anyone is using this drill P251 on the Ice..

the torque is right on the low end of powering an 8" auger from what I have read, so is should work, you have lots of batteries so you don't have to worry about how many holes you get. Is this drill brushless this helps as well.

I just bought that exact drill over Christmas and a clam plate. I have an 8" finbore auger. I have two 4ah batteries and then a ton of 2ah (all my tools are Ryobi, that's why I went for it). It is awesome! Compared to hand bombing the holes night and day. Have gone through 18" no problem up north last week. Drilled 18 holes one day. The only issue I have run into is that the drill stopped after a few seconds, and then it would start up again, then stop, then start up. So it took about 20 seconds to drill a hole instead of 5. I think it's the one battery to be honest though. I don't think it's holding a fully charge properly, or it could have been the -20 degree temps. Either way still fiddling with it and may buy one more battery, but with the warranty on it if I can't figure it out after the season I will just return it. The bonus is it's an added hammer drill for my tool kit in the summer time.

Yes a few guys run them. Use low speed on drill setting and keep the batteries warm.

Have mine for 3 years now. So far so good but i run a 9ah on mine tho.

I have tons of ryobi stuff, including lawn mower and other stuff and 40v for my dad. All work fine for what you pay. I still have an old corded blue drill downstairs. Brushes are burnt but still spins.

Bought one, just need to get out and use it. Glad to hear that they work, Im in the same boat have about 8 Ryobi batteries

Used a Ryobi for years then got dewalt for Christmas gave the dewalt a go 2 holes blew the gears out of it and well went back to the ryobi and still no issues going on 4 years and I’m not just drilling a few hors for me i still up to 10 at a time for the family

I've been using one for 8 years with the smaller battery on a 6" auger and use low speed. No problems. The start stop happens when the battery gets cold. I think all Li batteries have that issue.
