Gotta feel good about the people on this site looking out for other members.
Just curious though did you actually “catch” it?

Maybe a big old laker or pike snagged it & swam away with it

That good old Williams also fished my fishing camera and its 100' cable + spool out from 45' deep water a few days ago. I was helplessly watching my camera sinking slowly to the bottom after it slipped from my hand. I was almost sure it was a goner. However after seeing it go down on a very straight line without fluttering I decided to give my spoon a go. Sure enough after I jigged it a few times... FISH-Onnn! (well, cable-Onnn)... LOL.

Took me several minutes to spool 100' of camera cable back on the spool but I gladly did it considering the alternative... That was the best and most worthwhile catch of the day by the way.

I bought a dual tool....a magnet and you can switch it out for a 6 inch grappling hook....carry it just in case.

Nice catch Rey.

Couple years back a pike took my rod down the hole - laid it across the bucket as my focus was elsewhere Only 5ft of water but I could see them both on the bottom about 3ft to the side. So took the auger and drilled another hole inside the tent. Well didn’t the damn thing swim another couple of feet away. This time I had to drill another hole outside the tent, guesstimating where it was. Seen them but same thing - swam away. I decided to drill the next hole (hand auger) a couple of feet in front of where I thought he’d be. Finally able to get the treble hook down, a big red devil. As the pike started moving again The lure grabbed the back end of the rod and was set. Reeled up and happily grabbed not only the first rod but also the pike that was still hooked! Not a keeper nor picture worthy but certainly makes for an enjoyable memory & fun fish tale
