Hi all! Hope the ice season is going well. Again I am really enjoying checking out all the awesome posts from down south. Today in Ontarios North Western Region, I am hunting for any fish that swims. I end up hooking up with a large pike on ultra light along with a very strange species at the end of the day! Hope you all enjoy.

That was an interesting video, good job as always. I just hate sucker fish, there is a place I catch big ones 6 to 8 inches for pike bait. So I guess I should not hate them because they are great bait. Good luck out there and Stay Safe. How is the monster crappie search going?

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the support. That sucker was definitely an interesting fish. Honestly the least expected fish I would catch in the far north! LOL. But you know what, always interesting to encounter a new species. And that is a great point crappieman! Out of fish Id curiosity, was that still a “white sucker” generally I remember white suckers have a more dark colouration with a white stripe. I can say though I only encountered them in may, maybe that would just be spawning coulors? And I’ll tell! Crappie search is a struggle at the moment! I have driven as far as 2 hours to film a new video for that series but all I can see to encounter is the odd crappie and walleyes! Thats it. Hoping in March I can get on them again and get that little series rolling! Thanks again everyone for the support! More to come.

Enjoyed the video. Catching cisco and a largish pike under the same hole (with the pike being suspended so high) is a good sign that the pike maybe looking for a cisco meal. Can't wait for a video where you decide to set up heavier gear with one of the smaller cisco you catch for live bait...do it often enough and you may be seeing your PB pike fall quickly. Good luck and stay safe (and warm).

Love your attitude towards life and for sure, what matters most in the end IS that you are happy. And love your humbleness and willingness to accept suggestions and even some criticism. Just keep enjoying what you do - no one can take that away from you.

Your living the dream, but watching your fingers going into that mouth makes me cringe. I got nailed once and learned quickly to carry pliers.

I was going to say something about the "lip-holding" of the pike but forgot. Also, thought I was nimble and would be fast enough to pull my hands out when I was young and...well, once I was not Also watch for the gillrakers as well when you hold around the gill plates. One cold fall night, I caught a 36+" muskie, also thought I handle it easily around the gill plates...saw some blood but thought I may have hurt the fish a bit and it was its blood...once I warmed up in my car later that night, discovered it was my blood and the cold was keeping my fingers numb enough that I was bleeding much or feeling much.
