Yes always leave one corner anchored. I even do this when it’s not very windy just encase a gust comes through the area.

I have a Yukon XL flip over . This tent can handle 30k wind and if it's set up in deeper snow, it digs in and will not move much. But on bare ice the wind will move it . You will have to find the way to anchor it down. Also if you are a heavier person or have a lot of weight in your tub......it helps to stay in one place. But 30-35 Km wind is my limit. I tried to set up this portable and use it in stronger winds.......difficult and not much fun!

We don't get that many opportunities to fish Simcoe so it takes a lot to keep us away. 30km steady winds with 50km gusts aren't a problem for the otter hub (especially if there's lots of snow for the skirt) and the flip up can handle even more when attached to the atv. Until I have the kind of time retired guys have, I have to find a way to deal with whatever mother nature throws at us.

at 50kmh my hut starts bending. noise does not bother me (insulated hut so not bad anyway) but if i have to hold it so frame does not snap, that's my limit.
so yeah, today i had to say pass

Tomorrow is looking like it’s going to be too windy for me. 50km gusts…no thank you. I don’t want to end up looking like a kite surfer out there

Would a kite be able to tow gear as well? Snowtub ice fishing! Then the wind is the limit.

I was out today at bolster. Setup near Taj.
The wind was not bad for us we were able to setup with the wind and stake where the wind was blowing and packed the snow on the sleeve of the tent.

Ppl were outside too making holes with no hut.

The only bad was no fish at different 4 spots we tried.

Well in the ends .. it was a good experience for my 2 friends first time ice fishing

You guys are troopers. It was over 0C today so I walked my dog to the mailbox and then both the dog and I decided this was a bad idea, went in, and sat in front of the fireplace.

Wake me up when it's 20C+ again.

0 Celsius is a balmy day for a ice fisherman.....strip down and enjoy the sunshine and suck in the fresh air.

Ha ha

I'm a bad Canadian. The freedom 50 plan is a boat in Florida, fishing the sea where I'll never see snow again

Above 15 km ph on ice is windy. I have fished in 60 km ph once in innisfill beach some years ago. No fish and my pop up skak springs broke into pieces and after coming back home I had to toss it away + the wind tblow away couple of my fishing stuff too.
