PM, your video got me thinking a bit....man, it looked cold outside. In a few of your videos, your reel seemed to not work properly. It looked like the case in this video when you opened up your door for lighting...and things got really cold quickly so I am guessing here that any water on your reel froze up quickly when you opened up to let light in, given the kind of temps you have up there. So a quick fix is to get some LED lighting you can use inside without needing to open up the door for light (and of course open up the windows so that the clear plastic windows allow light inside but keeping the hard cold out and the heat in. Another thing I've noticed...and I think others have as well...when the drag is pulling out, don't try to reel in line....this will cause the line to dig into your spool and although, you may be okay for a little bit, over time, you will have some major issues with the reel operating properly. This can be a hard habit to change as we always want to get the fish up as soon as possible to not lose the fish but it's important to make sure your equipment will work well for you. Use your rod to keep pressure on the fish to tire it out and let the fish pull the drag. Use the reel to take up the slack and allowing the rod to keep tension on the fish. The reel is not what pulls the fish up but rather just picks up line so the rod can do the heavy work and tire out the fish. You have plenty of good fish to practice and have fun.

Thank you guys for the comments on this video! And thank you so much for the tips and support. I’m really sorry but I had to take this one down for an audio issue. There was an audio issue towards the end of the video that was really getting to me. Although the video already took off I decided I wanted to re upload it tonight with the audio issue fixed!
Sorry for the inconvenience! But here’s a pic to show while I fix the video up!
