Forum is as slow as the fishing this year, I was up fishing last week Fishing was slow until around 5:30 . Was pretty dark and fish started bite nothing big but they came in fast.28 Feet of water, out with Casey’s great operation left me out for awhile after dark.

Got 8 keepers with Casey’s on Friday. Slow day. Seen a few real big guns down the hole but very little biting.

Four of us fished out of Beaverton on Friday. We went with Floyd Hale's Ice Hut's. The huts were south of Thorah Island. We fished from 7 am till 4 pm and caught just 1 perch and a ciscoe. No one we spoke to that day was catching.

The Port Bolster and Beaverton area is good for perch , but you can not stay in one place too long. You have to be able to move around. There is a large basin of 26-32 ft of water with sandy bottom ( some has green weeds ).....sometimes I find closer to Beaverton is producing bigger fish.
But fish moves around and so we should too. Some days are better than others.

I find at this time of the year, you either are on them or not....I also find deeper is better especially if you hit a small countour line........kind of acts like a highway

I too like to be able to moved around, look for some weeds , change in depth etc but the guys I went with didn't want to be in my portable hut nor did they want to walk out or take my sleds...... they just wanted to be driven out and dropped off at a nice warm ice hut...we hadn't seen each other in quite a while, they were just happy to get out of the house and do a little socializing I think.
