I'm not a quitter.., Going to try Simcoe again.

Got to get a whitefish this year , I've been making up some chum for them.
What do you folks think, I do know perch love it..
Just white bread rolled in my fingers abs it supposed to look like minnows. I think they look like ones that fish spit up after we catch them..
Let me know what you think, I just have to add some sort of fish oil to them and then into the freezer until the day of fishing.

Bread can harm fish, they eat it but can't digest it. It would be the similar to a person who was to fill their stomach with grass from the lawn. Cows can digest grass, humans can't. Humans can digest bread, fish can't.

Ok I didn't know this, some pasta as well have yeast and gluten and some don't..
I definitely don't want to make the whitefish constipated... 😆..

Understanding Crapeeeman’s concerns, the bread itself as chum is still ‘allowed’ just not sure about the flavouring part given the new rules...

Hey Dave. Cooked elbow macaroni is what I've heard now from a few guys.

I know bread isn't illegal as a chum as it plant based. However you can get bread without some of the ingredients mentioned..
Chuck yes I've heard about macaroni and cooked spaghetti noodles. I've used the spaghetti noodles before and they look like they would work..

Meegs or simular lures with minnow head, sometimes a whole minnow on it. On the other line a good old spreader with a top hook..I tried some plastics when I downsized but always with minnow head or whole minnow..
Just had a chat with a neighbor and he said his dad said they use to use bean sprouts.. never heard that one before lol..
Again it helps when the fish are present..

Bean sprouts???? Never heard of that either. I was going to suggest a meegs in goby colour with a small tube and run a hook about 12 inches above with a a small tube on it.

Years ago my dad used to boil up a pot of barley. Also used to lower it down in a small pail and release it close to the bottom so it wouldn’t be so spread out.It is seem to keep the white fish around.

I have been out once and my buddies every weekend so far. We have not been skunked once. Only use artificials- meegs, vibrato and drifter on a ned jig. Most have come on the vibrato. Jig it aggressively 2-3 feet until they show up then drop it to the bottom.Sometimes they wanted it right on the bottom jigging it like a meegs, other times just 2-4 inches off the bottom barely moving it.
