Out for a few hours today with a bud, got a nice sunburn! Great ice on the main lake, watch for crusted over drain holes! Buddy stepped in one about 24” in diameter we had been fishing right next to it unknowingly all morning. Still a good 14-16” black ice where we were. Shore was good enough for a few quads that came out to fish in the afternoon, though those days are numbered and on our way out it looks like one may have broken the access up a bit, didn’t cause any issues but the lake ice is lifting and cracking and making all sorts of noise.
Setup in 48fow, marked fish most of the morning, I managed 3 whitefish topside and one laker, lost another laker in the hole. All on an orange Neptune ice bug or simcoe bug… my number one producer this hardwater season. My buddy managed one laker as well. Pub style whities for dinner tonight!! Action dropped off around 12:45, marked the odd one, decided to pack up and was back on the road by 2pm.
