Hey everyone my son and I want to do an overnight fishing trip. We have the gear but we need to know if anybody has an idea from Casey's huts in Port Foster out to the perch grounds how far do you think the walk would be. If you know of a shorter route or place please let me know thank you look forward to hearing back from everyone. Rob

I have not been to Port Bolster area recently, but from what I hear from others who fished there over the weekend, and from where I fished at other areas on Simcoe this past weekend, walking is very good as snow has been hardened down with no slush due to the last few nights extreme cold.

As to walking out of Port Bolster (if from the launch near Casey's) to some potential/decent perch ground, it can be a bit long walk say around 1KM or more. But again, the walking I believe shall be very good and easy now...

Good luck, and catch some BIG/JUMBO ones...

Lots of gear to be dragging out that far. I'd talk to Taj at Casey's about getting a lift. It'll be worth every penny.

X2...pay him to park, buy his minnows and use his taxi service.
Better chance of him putting you on the fish! Fyi the night bite is pretty much non existent from my personal experience. But maybe a big ling might swim by looking for a snack.

X3...the improved version of getting a lift.
