Who loves Walleye Wings?! I do!

Good way to maximize your harvest.

I have tried them and I think they taste the same as the fillets so they are great in my book.

I love them !! They look good and ready to go , enjoy the eats , post the finished product.

Unfortunately you have to catch walleye which I suck at in the winter.

SSIC in under two weeks , hopefully get a few sets of wings.

I also struggle to consistantly catch walleye in the winter. I always do the wings and cheeks when I do catch them.

im doing up a bunch this weekend ive had frozen since the soft water season. looks like the skin is still on in that pic? you normally leave that on or is that still to come off before cooking? ive always taken it off, just wondering if i really need to be.

I call them "bunny ears" as that is how I was introduced to them. really can't beat beat them and the cheeks. I usually do them up and take a plate around to the neighbours, I think they can smell me coming, as they seem to always be home with big smiles when I get there.

Leave the skin.

do you eat the skin or is it just left behind? maybe you dont even notice it after deep frying but its pretty tough stuff.

We do the same thing with bass in the summer…delicious!
