Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knew what the conditions were like out on the ice so far this year in terms of slush? Heading up there next week and was just curious what I might be in for.

Each lake has varied but it's a bad year for slush, yesterdays rain and warmth didn't help that. The cold weather might but doubtful at this point... Most likely will be a crust on top of some decent slush.

Some places there is 10" snow over 8-10"of water/slush. The is not much snow at the edge of the ice-road, but further in very easy to get stuck. (Feb 15th)

North of Temagami Islands north end, off the ice road. Try to stay close to shore. Where the ice road turns east, south of the road to shore there was 16" of snow with minimal water on top of the ice. Did not go south of access point.

We were up for 5 days Feb 15 - 19th.........ice road to south arm was in good condition no slush coming up. Lots of snow came in on the 18th which made travelling by snowmobile easy on the 19th. Coming in an out from the Access Road to South Arm was good for us.
We normally beat down a few trails to let the slush come up. The night freeze helps the morning travelling to the back lakes.
There is slush but it wasn't an issue for us and I have seen worst years of slush. Did not see anyone stuck.
As for fishing, pickerel were caught 22 to 28 FOW bite in the morning 630 to 715am, evening 530 to 645pm. Lake Trout were caught 30 to 73 FOW. We mainly targeted pickerel.
Having a camera gave us the edge in witnessing how the fish reacted to your bait/jig/etc.

The Ice road to the south arm good for trucks or just sleds? TIA
From the 15th to 18th ...trucks with trailers were good. On the 19th you wouldn't been able to get out as heavy snow and winds made the ice road a no go by truck/trailers etc.......snowmobile yes. The road is solid, you just have the snowed in factor to consider.
All depends on the weather/forecast and then your at the mercy of when the ice road gets plowed if it gets blown over i.e. drifts
