I am looking to do an overnight fishing trip to lake temagami to target burbot... any ideas on the access points? I have my own hut and everything. Also if you could advise me on what bait to use, that'd be great as well Thanks!

Take lake Temagami access road to the end from the east side of the lake. Not sure of snow conditions but usually there are ice roads plowed so you can drive onto the ice and set up the shelter right by the car/truck.

Also check the regs for the lake. There are size keep limits on Lake trout as well as bait rules. I believe you aren't allowed to use any dead or alive baitfish over 13cm from what I remember.

Curious, I've never ice fished there either. Sounds like a lot of slush issues. Question: In terms of walk in fishing does anybody do that either from the Town of Temagami or from the end of the access road? Maybe like a 1km max walk?

I don't usually see anyone walking from the access road and I never been from town of Temagami side. But you can drive onto the ice road from the access road and find some deeper water and shovel yourself a parking spot. Or just move the car/truck if you see the plows coming.

Cassels Lake has a place that meets those criteria's. Free parking and about a 5 minute drive from the town of Temagami. Public launch ramp.
