Hello, I have lived in barrie for my whole life but never fished it and attended nipissing univeristy and started fishing up there an fell in love! I do really well for pike and walleye up there but would love to fish simcoe. I am home for my reading week and looking to go for lake trout and wanted to go out off of bear point. I have figured out my parking situation but just wanted some advice on how long the walk out is from the guest road launch and what time of day? I was thinking sunrise to 1 or 2 pm but haven’t fished there before. Looking for any advice people are willing to give?

Not sure about best of the time during the day for laker fishing on Simcoe, but from Guess Road shoreline access, I know it is not a long walk. It's more like around no more than 400 meters walking straight out to deep water ground (around 100 fow) for lakers (and whitefish)

Watch your forecast. Wind is not your friend! If your fishing for Lakers, might be worth a swim bait in one hole and a meegs for Whitey's in the other. Good luck, hopefully better then mine!
