Hi,

I am having trouble reading the online maps for the BMZs. I cannot figure out if Fesserton(Huronia Bait) is in the central BMZ i.e. FMZ 15. Anyone have a ling to a detailed map?

Somehow the maps on this link will not scroll down that far

TIA

This might help. Looks to me like Fesserton is in the southern management zone.

Huronia Baits: FMZ 16

Rosseau/Joeseph/Muskoka.....: FMZ 15

When I bought bait there, he didn't caution about going to FMZ 15

Thx---we are prob going to Joe so it looks like we will need to detour to Glen Orchard for minnows.

Maybe a bit of a detour across....
But the price difference might be "salve for the wound"(?)
HB: $13/doz (+tax)
G-Orchard: $10/scoop (+tax)

Good luck on the ice.

He likely has other priorities instead of making sure all customers adhere to fishing regulations.

I don't see how he is going to stay in business when most fishers are headed North. Only open 3-4 days now.

I was talking to glen orchard bait shop and he said all his bait comes from lake simcoe. I dont understand the concept of this new BMZ if the bait hes selling isnt local.

Interesting. I mean this glen orchard bait shop and the location (Simcoe) where his minnows come from, are not even in the same Bait Management Zone!:-)

2 weeks ago when I purchased minnows from Glen Orchards they were not simcoe shiners and from what I understood Bill said not allowed to sell bait from different zone.

In North Bay, the bait shops get their shiners from down south. They are tested for VHS before they are sold. However, even though they come from down south and are tested, we can not leave the BMZ 11 with them. So BMZ 15 is 20 minutes from my house I have to drive 1 hrs 10 minutes to (Magnetawan) to get minnows then back track to the lake I want to fish on.

It's not worth the trip for minnows, using worms and plastics now.
