Today I started praying for all the soldiers. By the time I was done my prayer I had prayed again for the women and children. And for all people....even us over here in Canada. Faith for peace. Hope for peace. Pray for peace. It does not matter how you wish for peace.....just wish for peace.

QUOTE (Goshawk @ Mar 06, 2022 - 06:49 pm)
A friend of mine sent me a video, and at the end it had an adage:
If you want happiness for a day: take a nap.
If you want happiness for a week: go fishing.
If you want happiness for a year: inherit a fortune.
If you want happiness for a lifetime: help somebody.
Author unknown.
Thank you again for that Lionel as well as the other comments from everyone. There is many ways to help the people of Ukraine. People can donate to the red cross or the local Ukraine churches etc. Prices are going up in Canada but who cares we live in a free country. We are still praying for all the victims of war and for peace.

For sure. I'll be more than happy to give up a lot of my freedom to drive wherever I want to shop, enjoy various things freely because of increased gas prices for not only her but others. It's ridiculous what's happening. What an interesting contrast between all the "freedom" protests in Canada and an actual freedom issue. Some people don't really know or appreciate all the freedoms that we do have here but "freedom" doesn't mean TOTAL freedom to do whatever one wants but freedom for certain rights (but at the same time without affecting the rights, health, life, etc. of others). Let's hope this ends soon but I am not so confident it will end without much more escalation. Things are kind of following the early stage that led to WWI and WWII...i.e., countries that were not directly involved did not want to get involved to avoid upset similar invading leaders and escalating the situation....both led to even larger escalations because it's been shown over and over again, such leaders have no real disincentive (on them directly) to stop. I really hope it's not history repeating because so many much more powerful weapons exist now than ever in our history.

Thank you for your thoughts Flukes. People have been saying no more war for decades. There has been protests against war for decades. The human race advances itself decade after decade. Why then is it so easy for our leaders to kill our people decade after decade. Now it is the people of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and maybe more that will suffer for decades to recover from this war. Pray for Peace.

Maggie T disproved that idea when she invaded the Falklands.
My post was a euphemism as to avoid saying what I really think of most of the men that run our world. Women bring are children into this world, they don't take them out. In my opinion women are the better of the two sexes. In general women do most of the early raising of our children. Then as a team we teach our children about love, honour and respect. We teach them to fish and hunt or about sports and music or literature etc. etc. Women are definitely not responsible for the monsters like Hitler and Putin and so many other men that have committed genocide over the last 5000 years in our world. I have purposely kept my posts light and stressing peace as best I can to avoid any debate. Also Margaret Thatcher did not start the war in the Falklands, but she was a big part of it. Women have had many roles in war, my aunt was one of the first commissioned officers in the Canadian Armed Forces and she had blood on her hands...... Just another mild way to write something without details. We pray for peace in Europe because that is about all we can do right now. Also we can donate money to various organizations or churches that are helping the refugees. Pray for peace for all the people in the war.

I tend to agree with most of that. I don't want to start an argument either. I guess sometimes over-simplification is necessary to make a point.

WE can buy one or two or ten less lures this season and donate the money to someone who needs it. Most of us have to much fishing stuff anyway.
Since I brought up fishing lures.....its only 4 more weeks until the monster crappie come out from under the ice. I am looking forward to catching many of these Canadian Piranha. I did not have time to ice fish so I am hoping to make time for spring crappie.
