I'm heading to temagami tomorrow morning. I've never been. Can some one lay out the ice roads for me from the access road. Just want to know where they go. Also does anyone have up to date conditions of the ice and ice road

cant really lay out the ice roads for you too well. one goes towards what they call the hub then beyond down the south arm. another goes towards TFN bear island and after that i dont know. I just returned from there Friday ,spent 4 days up there, about a foot of snow fell while we were there. we were traveling on sleds there is about 2 feet of snow on top of the ice with about a foot of slush underneath. we were able to travel the lake but broke through into pockets of slush at times.we watched a few pickups traveling the ice road get stuck in large pockets of slush on the roads. road is good but there are for sure some bad spots.places we fished started to slush up on the last day we were there. hope this help you good luck

Anyone have any updates on ice thickness on temagami area? Last trip I had years ago, the auger just made it through. Wondering if I should invest in an extension before I head up.

You might go north 100 times and not need it but you'll regret not having it that one time. Better looking at it than wishing you had one. Ask me how I know, lol.

Yesterday my buddies Ion made it thru just barely. If ice was any thicker he would have had to put on the extension. Wouldn't be good for a hand auger. Ice is layered on the lake near Temagami but with a solid top layer which will handle snowmobiles and atv's no problem. When drilling your hole you will hit a few layers of slush.

Ya, I just sucked it up and bought one. Figure if I don't use it on my next trip, I'd use it eventually. Plus, if I try to buy one next year, it'll probably cost me twice as much.
