I'm also heading up this weekend.
Usually don't target lakers but the small ones with orange meat are not bad eating.
Quite often we are on remote back lakes.

We just came back and it was definitely slow. 3 Lakers between 4 of us. Not many fish marked on the electronics either.

Did you hunker down in one spot? Were you perhaps too deep? When I’m not marking constant fish I keep moving until I do. This time of year you start going shallower in my opinion. Sometimes shallower flats near deeper water start to produce for me this time of year. Sometimes despite best efforts, we get all tough days. It’s called fishing!

Any size and on the lakers?
I’m sure it was still a good time.

Great time and they were 2-5 lbs. We fished 80 ft of water at our usual spot that usually delivers good numbers. We did leave sat night before the slushfest on Sunday so our time was limited. There was another group of guys in 50-60 fow and not much action either. We were south arm area.
