For some reason the link does not work for me. I also looked on the Nugget web site but did not find the story. I did find this on another site which could be what you were posting jmah? It is pretty sad to see.

Thank you to the kind people that take the time to pick up garbage that should have never been left out there or any where anyway. Garbage is disgusting, and so are the people that leave it. If you are reading this and you are the kind of person that leaves garbage, you are disgusting!! I have told people not to throw cigarette butts in the lake many times. They look at me like I am the idiot and not them. They think what is the big deal, it's only a cigarette butt.......Ya one butt times a million, or worm box or beer can, and all that plastic. Take your dam garbage home with you or put it in a garbage can. It's not that hard, has common sense just gone away from some people. Or have we really come this far in our world that there is that many people out there that just don't care about anything. I love fishing, I love being outside, in the beautiful world that we have. It is a beautiful world please pick up your garbage. That is all we are asking, if you are someone that has left garbage before, please stop doing it. Just take it out with you, think about the damage you are causing by leaving your garbage. Please stop leaving your garbage. Thank you again to those of us that pick up garbage and bring it home with are own garbage.

Thanks Neil, the link didn’t work for me also.
It’s amazing how thoughtless people can be. One of my biggest pet peeve’s is garbage left behind intentionally. Just shameful.
Great see someone step up to the plate and remove some of this garbage.
We see the same thing year after year. What’s it going to take to get though to these idiots ?
Bring in the hanging judge I say …..

Only takes a few rotten apples to spoil the bunch.I'm sure the people on this forum are not the culprits.Stuff like that can certainly blow up in today's world. It would be a real shame if they closed ice fishing ,banned trucks, ice huts , etc. There was an issue with the sunset access a couple years back and it was magnified to the extreme. So it is really awesome to have some look after the lake like the chap who goes out and picks up all the blocks.garbage and such. Having two beautiful Lakes in our back yard is special. Til next years Hard ice, tight lines.

Or have we really come this far in our world that there is that many people out there that just don't care about anything.

Unfortunately this goes on since who knows when. Here's a picture from 2002. Me and a few fellow anglers picking-up garbage from a short stretch of Duffins Creek in Ajax, ON. I used to live there, and fished Duffins quite a lot. Some of the garbage and junk, not only left at the banks, but also thrown in the water was and still is just unbelievable and very disheartening. Humans are their own worst enemies, we are self destructive and highly disrespectful of nature (of course there are many who care but a few is enough to cause major damage). Anyway so much for the rant. Here's also some of the scenes i came across over the years while fishing the creek.
