Fund Raiser for COPE Service Dogs, Nothing to do With Hunting or Fishing

As some of you know, my wife plays old time fiddle and I'm an old time square dance caller.

It is National and World Fiddle Day on May 21st and my wife and I decided to organize an event to celebrate the date.

It is an OLD TIME FIDDLE/MUSIC JAM, OLD TIME DANCE AND SQUARE DANCE.

We further decided that we would make it a fund raiser for COPE Dogs. We figured put a good music day to use to raise funds for a good cause.

Admission to the event is "FREE", but we are asking people to make a donation to support COPE.

The attached flyer gives all the details and if you are looking for something to do next Saturday, come and join us.

If you feel you would like to support the event even if you are unable to come, if you go to the COPE web-site, there is a "donate" button you can click on. If you do decide to donate, where it says "Tribute", put in "Fiddle Day" as this will help determine the total of all money we raise.
Donations of $20.00 or more qualify for a tax receipt.

As I said in the heading, nothing to do with hunting or fishing, but if you are a dog lover like my wife and I, you will understand why I wanted people on the Forum to know about this.

Things are coming together nicely. We have confirmation from many musicians, including 12 fiddlers that they plan to be there.

We have already raised in excess of $100.00 from people who want to support the event, but cannot be there. We haven't even played a note and money has been raised.

If you are not able to come but want to support the event, go to the COPE web-site and click on the "donate" button. Where it says "Tribute" fill in "Fiddle Day" so that we get credit for the donation.

Just had an e-mail from COPE and to date $103.00 has been donated on their web-site and I have $110.00 sitting here from neighbours and people we have seen at music jams and square dances recently.

WOW, $213.00 donated already and not a note of music played or square dance called.

Sandy and I never set ourselves an official target to raise, but we were hoping to raise at least $500.00

Looks like we have a good chance of doing that.

At different times during the day, COPE volunteers will be bringing 3 or 4 dogs to the event on Saturday.

It promises to be a fun and rewarding day!

It is good exposure to a "crowd scene" for the dogs as well the people attending will get to see how their donations will be used.
