I took the tin boat out for the first time on Sturgeon this year and spent the morning looking for walleye. The weeds were sparse and came up empty. I just drifted for a while, anchored for a while and only came across a school of perch. The heat was getting to me so I headed back into shore and thought I would have some fun with the perch (about 200) in the shallows. They would spook every time I casted in their direction but would come back and were willing to bite on worms. I was sight fishing for some of the noticeably bigger one's (8-10") and managed to put together a meal. I did see a few bass cruising around including a pair of 20", hopefully they will be around for opening day next month. There were a few other boats around but did not see anyone with fish on. Hope you had better luck locating them than I did.

Too bad on the walleye but perch dinner will be good I bet.
