Had a fantastic weekend in Algonquin Park. The weather was fantastic and the Bugs were very manageable.Great times with great friends, lots of good laughs some blood and sweat for sure trying to get to a backlake that had no portage. The struggle was well worth it, as we picked off 6 beautiful brookies and last a few as well. A couple of our group that didn't make the trek in stayed to fish a main lake and got a couple nice Lakers. We then on the last day went to fish for a few rock bass for a shore lunch. The trout got packaged up for home. Great food and friends always make a good trip. 👍 pics to follow.

Thanks Shank, none of us are getting any younger and the portage is getting harder every year. An hour or so of worm dunking for panfish and a bonus brookie is starting to suit me just fine.

I can sympathize with the body aches of the portaging. Haven't done an Algonquin trip to some really good brookie fishing in a while...should do it again someday before I become "happy" with worm dunking for panfish as well
