Looks like fun!!

I have done a fair share of portaging , incl bushwhacking, but never with such a combo of timber and black flies. You earned those trout!

Awesome trip and pictures !👍👍
This portage to back lake tells the story .
I’ve done it in the past but my back does not let me anymore

It's a good thing we only do that trip once a year. Lol

Lol. Was that quote in the book Canoe Country by Roy McGregor?

I wouldn't say I enjoy or like it...but, if you do it enough, it doesn't seem as painful...and if the fishing is good enough, you forget how much work it can be to get into some areas where the fishing is still good (for good reason).

Agreed ⬆️

Portaging can be a necessary evil to get beyond the crowds. I don’t necessarily ‘like’ it, but I do like the places portaging gets me.

Fantastic report and good looking speckles. It sure looks like your hard work paid off. I always think the portages keep the fishing pressure down which helps the success rate and solitude.
Good times for sure.

Nice stringer of brookies. Great to see the bushwhacking/portaging paid off.
