COPE DOGS FUNDRAISER, AHUGE SUCCESS-2,082.25 Revised-$2,222.25

We had hoped to raise around $500.00. Instead we raised

$2,082.25 May 26-Revised, more money came in-now$2,222.25 JUNE 21, Revised again, more money came in. NOW $2280.85

A lot of happy fiddlers getting to play together after more than 2 years and the same with a lot of very happy dancers, listeners and square dancers.

We had about 125 people there in total.

I know it has nothing to do with hunting & fishing but many of you like my wife and I are dog lovers and that is what it was all about.

We went to the COPE offices on Tuesday to turn over the proceeds and there were 4 Labs there. 2 yellows and 2 blacks.

All at various levels of training. They were given the command "make a friend" and they just wanted us to love them. Which we did.

Yes, it was good to be back at it!

Looking out from the stage at the dance floor and audience, it was a "sea of smiles and happy faces". I sent out a "wrap-up" report to my mailing list yesterday and our Inbox today has been inundated with congratulatory and thankful messages.

One of the frequent questions we got on Saturday was, "when are you going to do this again"? Many of the people who attended, were used to going to fiddle jam/dances/square dances before the pandemic and they have had little or nothing to go to in the last 2 years.
None of the regular events have restarted and we filled a very real need.


All being well, May 20, 2023 for sure. Before that it will be wait and see.

Sam is doing great. She met a new friend on the weekend that was visiting from Ottawa. They got to play each day, we seemed to go for a walk about the right time. Helped that I said I go at pretty much to same time.
