Had a charter for this morning so down to boat and get all set up like normal....just finished and phone call comes in saying they had to bail cause of the weather

WHAT.........you're kidding right ....it's dead flat

They thought differently and were coming from London, but whatever....deposit forfeited and I start putting all the gear away

Then I looked out there again and said.....wth....it's gorgeous, so headed out solo, something I have not done in many years, but I wanted to experiment a bit..

Ran out and set up 2 rods with copper colors lures and started trolling shallow at 2.8 mph

within 50 minutes i boated what I was after...2 perfect eaters lost 2 kings and hit a tiny shaker

called it quits after an hour....

It was an an excellent day

Honestly I had completely forgotten how much fun it is to fish solo on the big boat even though some stuff can be a challenge

Longshank, good on you for getting out there and enjoying the day.

Honestly, I love my fishing partners, but sometimes it's just nice to get out by yourself and enjoy zero stress fishing with your own thoughts.

Looks like a great day! Thank you for sharing.. I love reading fish reports with pictures and stories.

I'm planning to be down in Whitby on Lake O for a weekend of fishing starting July 1st for the Salmon Derby! I can't wait to join There's only so much Simcoe lakers one can take

Beautiful weather and beautiful steelhead..

Well done! You made a great day of it

I like fishing solo as well, gives me lots of time with my thoughts and can be very relaxing, fullfilling..

Cheers! Glad you had a great outing

Very nice twin fish and you are lucky your boat is big enough to handle all those waves, sure looked windy out there.

QUOTE (Longshank @ Jun 08, 2022 - 07:10 pm)
auto pilot sure helps when trolling solo

You know, you just reminded me about auto pilot. I was thinking about getting that this year for the boat, because fishing on Lake Ontario without it sucks, and the currents are typically so strong that the trolling motor has to be at 10 all the time and the batteries are depleted in an hour or two.

Nice little outting Shank. Conditions look stellar, it's too bad your clients canceled.

Calm enough I’d go in the canoe. Nice fish.
