I forgot to mention the auto pilot. I use my electric motor for my auto pilot. I put the kicker out with just enough speed to get me going and then the electric to bring the speed up to where I want it. This way I go where I want and it saves on the battery life as well. LS is correct it is a most when by yourself or even when with others, you just have to make sure no one else is in the water around you then go land your fish, I see too many people out there that just set their auto pilot on and sit back and watch their lines and never look forward.

Wow, why didn't I ever think about using the electric + main motor for trolling. I don't have a kicker, only a 250, but this would work as long as I keep that motor straight and then set the trolling motor to keep me in a straight line.

Ya,,, lol was still disappointing though as I sent several weather/wind screenshots. this rarely happens thankfully

back to the auto pilot....for sure I believe it is a must have item, but at same time not to be abused... as mentioned it's perect for having to leave the wheel and go fight and net a fish

to leave any system unattended is not good though and we do see this happening more and more now

thanks for all the positive feedback everyone

not just auto pilot is a problem. Out of Leamington this morning not a lot of boats so lots of room. I was on auto and watching forward, watched small tinny cutting across in front of me good distance out, then it turns and heads right at me. I had no idea which way to go as it was head on. 2 guys in boat driver using his tiller, they not paying attention. I start blowing horn in multiple blasts of 3. when they are 30yds out guy finally goes to the west passes us with in 30 ft. had several words with him and all he had to say was why didn't I move. I said I would gladly have moved if I had know which way to go. guy not paying any attention, guess there was to much water out there.

did see a cool sight though, a Viking cruise ship cut across our bow maybe half mile ahead of use and it cruise to point peele and anchored.

Last time I was out there were only 4 boats in the area. I had a 10 colour out and one of the only boats on the water followed my path to a T. He slowly caught me even when I turned off course. He finally got close enough (100 yards out) for me to yell at him and get him to turn off from following my stern. I just can’t figure out why anyone would follow the exact path I was on and run up my a##.

Some boaters are idiots.

I do nothing but troll....when they follow me I take them through the rocky sections of Georgian Bay....they do not follow me for long. My partner always gets a kick out of them as they lose their nerve and turn away. It pays to know every rock in the area.
