I had so many things to do this weekend that fishing was last on my list. WELLLLL WHY NOT FISH. Got my oil changed in my vehicle today and the rest is just going to have to wait. You don't get weather like this all the time, warm during the day and cool at night with the right amount of a breeze. Moon will be out, water level is a bit higher than normal, so off I go. Going to throw everything in my vehicle, hope I don't forget anything. Take my time driving, no need for a ticket. I usually plan every little thing I do, but why not try something different. Now that I have said that we will see. Will the fish cooperate and be there to be caught? Will I get skunked? Like I said, I plan and think way too much so who cares what happens. I may get to see a few friends and fish, and that will be great. Tomorrow I will post what ever happens. Good luck, and stay safe out there this weekend.

Fished from 8pm last night until 6am this morning. Basically got skunked. Lots of rock bass caught as always. One small walleye and one smallmouth bass. A musky ripped through my line early morning that is the first lure I have lost in over a decade. Best part of last night was hanging out for a bit and fishing with jerkbaiter and his friends. All fine fellows and was nice to meet them. I was not supposed to go fishing this weekend but glad I made the drive.

It was great seeing and talking to you CM.
I think you did not bad with a few fish caught over night and had a number of fish landed. Sorry for your lost lure . I know it sucks to loose a good proven lure like that.
We are still here but not sure if the rain and thunderstorm will hit tonight or not as we hoped to fish tonight and tomorrow morning.
Will post my report maybe Monday .

Here is picture of the gorgeous pre sunrise sky colours at 4.45 am today

Here is the picture you took of me fishing by my friends house. The one you sent me looks better, I had to modify it a bit. LOL That was a great sunrise. It is so peaceful out there early or late with just one or two boats drift fishing. That was a fun 10 hours, to bad the walleye were not biting like they usually do. I wish I could have stayed for the next two days when the walleye woke up and got hungry. Glad you guys had fun.

Crappeeeman it is always nice to get out fishing and it was a bonus to have had the chance to meet up with Jerkbaiter. I was on balsam Saturday, got a 2.5 lb Smallmouth and a 19” walleye. Caught them between 10 and noon.

Caught this fella. Unfortunately too small.
Also few oos LMBs and a nice 69cm pike.
Saw another big pike following the lure, but did not commit.

Great sunrise pictures, RM!

Happy for you to be able to get on Balsam and got a few fish there!

Nice walleye - too bad it was out of the limit size.

We were able to fish Balsam on Sunday for a bit after the storm has passed.

I will post my report on our weekend trip to Sturgeon/Balsam later.

Very nice pictures RM so you were just down the road from us a bit. Too bad I could not stay, would have been nice to say hello to you as well. Glad you caught some nice fish on Balsam and I hardly noticed any bugs at all. Was there many on Balsam? Also there should be crappie around those docks at night and right up to sunrise.

Two Trumpeter swans swam by to say hello when there was just a hint of light out there. Those birds are huge and glad they don't eat fish. LOL
