Hole can be great early and mid season. Study the winds a few days prior to fishing the Hole. You will soon realize a certain sustained wind direction will put fish in the hole on a regualr basis and be sure to go during low light hours, fish are more active and you avoid the inevitable boat traffic.
Nice outing Grandpa, i know where you were fishing

Red boat, yup, that was me.

Thought I would get out early and try to salvage something from an unsuccessful trip to Bayfield Inlet.
Nest time, when fishing GB, I'll move around a lot more.

Lesson learned, thanks,

Cheers,

Hallo My Name is Konrad live in Midland for 40 years and enjoy fishing here. Now I dont have the know how like you. Just wonder if you would share some of your wisdom. I love salmon fishing but i don't have much luck catching them. Over the last years i did get some but with a lot of effort like trolling for 5 to 6 hrs at the time and many times i come home skunked. I use most of the time Lyman lures at the bottom and spoons for half way up as cheaters. would you mind to give me some ideas what i am doing wrong. Thanks Konrad

Ditch the Lymans. They work but mostly in August and Septmeber. I nomally dont put one down until the 2nd week of August. Stick with spoons. Use standard size spoons until early July then switch to Mag spoons but run a standard size spoon on your cheater at all times. Greens, blues, wonderbread patterns are standard colors in your spread. Moonshine spooms are great, run them 2.5-3mph. Once you start catchng fish and want to expermient more then start buying other brands and learn to switch your speeds based on the mood of the fish and the lures you are running. Once you gain some confidence you can start adding meat and flashers to your presentation. As for leads, cant go wrong with 75-100 ft behind your ball at most depths. I can go on and on but this should be enough to put fish in the boat on a regualr basis. Remember the devil is in the detail, especially on Gbay salmon
