Had a couple hours to kill this afternoon, so did a little bushwack to a set of rapids that holds some specks this time of year. Not a sole around, had the place to myself. Didn’t find any big ones, and the nicest one I had on today got off, of course. Let ‘em all go, and got out of there in an hour and a half.

Tried chucking a small spoon a bit further out into the bottom pool, but no takers….went back to the spinner and worm

This one was from the fast water, must have missed a bit when striking at it a few times, got hooked under the chin

Love the Panther Martin spinners for brookies - they usually do all the damage on my Algonquin trips. I usually use a black one with various coloured spots. Never tried a gold one.

Great post Drew.
Brings back a lot of memories of dry fly fishing with my dad on the upper CRedit river, many many years ago.
Nothing like stream fishing for brookies, it's a real art. Walk softly and carry a fly rod for the best experience.
