Hey everyone, been a LONG time since I’ve posted much on here. Between moving to our dream property last year, getting that all sorted out and doing many projects around the new house, and crazy busy work, I just haven’t been out on the water much.
Managed to sneak out for the morning today though, before it got too crazy hot.
I hit a lake that’s not known for huge fish, but has tons of smaller ones. That’s fine by me, I just wanted to get my string stretched a bit! First bass of the season hammered a buzzbait, and in about 4 hours I stopped counting after 50 largemouth, pretty much all on a hollow body frog, with a few buzz bait fish mixed in. Some of the spots I hit were a fish on every cast. Nothing over 3lbs, but I didn’t care, was just nice to get out and hammer a pile of fish.
I also noticed, this was a pretty busy Muskoka cottage lake, and on this beautiful day I only saw about 3 other boats the whole time I was out there. Maybe the gas prices have slowed down some boat traffic, fine by me as it was a very peaceful day on the water.

That is awesome catching fish after fish for hours. My walleye opener was like that, fish after fish. Only my fish were rock bass and smaller walleye. I love those kind of days when you cast then wham a fish....cast then wham a fish....cast then wham a fish. Hope you get many more days like that.

No one should complain about a day like that. It's like fishing for panfish and they are all LM bass. Is your dream property also in the Muskokas? Just curious if your dream property included being at or near your fishing holes.

We actually moved back to just down the road from where I grew up, which was only about 20 min from where we used to live the last 17 years
We went from .3 of an acre on a highway with neighbours on both sides of us to now having 25 acres on a dead end road with no neighbours on either side of us, and we also have a river that runs through our property with smallmouth and largemouth in it! I grew up on a 120 acre farm, so this is a much nicer and more peaceful place to live, and yes, I’m just outside of Rosseau.

Cool to end up more or less where you grew up. Looking for our dream property still...and it will have to include decent fishing (even if not waterfront, there has to be lots of easy access that I can walk to to fish - cant wait for the day until I don't have to drive so far to just wet a line).
