Fished 1 hour north of Perry Sound, pretty good sizes of small and large mouth caught, jerk baits and popers worked the best for me.

Poppers work great for bass and pike as well, even big crappie. I don't use them to often because the water is usually open from surface weeds in my fishing spots. In areas where there is open water and surface weeds I loop the leader around the front hook of a floating crank bait. This turns it into a popper and it hops over the weeds very well. Saves me time from switching lures because sometimes the fish are in the weeds or in the open water or right on the weed edge.
