I managed to entice a few smallies this morning in relatively calm water after the big blow yesterday and all of the rain. The only one that I took a pic of was the biggest lady, 4.25lb 18.5 inch beauty. I watched her come over to investigate my chugger topwater popper. She stalked it for about 8 feet, when I stopped it, she just sat there watching it. As soon as I twitched it again, she exploded on it. All of the others that I caught were also in 2-3 feet of water around some rocks. I also manage to catch what was probably my PB rock bass. That thing must have been 1.5lb. It took off with my craw on a drop shot ike it was angry at it!

Short day two on the water. I went searching for some eyes this evening. Found them along wi 3 other boats. They were all cathing them on live bait, but the eyes weren't interested in my jigs and Gulp minnows. So I went back to my little islands and landed another beauty in 2 feet of water along a boat dock with the same popping topwater. I love those flying smallmouth!!
Tomorrow is a golf day. High winds coming in the morning.

Thank you for the update Lionel. Keep them coming. Hope your golf went well in that wind.
Jaime, the golf course that I went to was the worse course that I've ever played. The course is out in the middle of nowhere....there's not even a local store close to it or a gas station. Check it out....Clear Springs south of North Bay. There's nothing around but farms and small town of a couple hundred people. Conditions were really poor, the greens were cut, but the mower doesn't pick up the clippings so there were grass clippings all over the greens, and with a little drizzle the grass stuck to the ball when you hit a putt and made the ball do all sorts of crazy turns even on a flat green. Bunkers were more like cement. I hit one ball into a bunker and it never made a dent in the surface. The staff (except for the girl working the pro shop) were pretty rude to everyone that I spoke to. It's definitely on my bucket list of never go again!! At least I managed to repair my bunks on the trailer so I can load up the boat in the morning and head home. I lost 4 lag bolts that were holding the bunker in place. It was float when I launched the boat. With the help of the resort owner and an impact drill, I got several lag bolts and lock washers from HD this morning and got it bolted down this afternoon so the day wasn't a total waste. I'm ready to head home tomorrow. I'm worn out, mostly from lack of sleep because of CPAP machine issues. That's been solved now.

Well that was not your greatest day on vacation, sorry to hear that. Your adventures are always fun out there mostly. At least you caught some nice fish in those pictures. I am sure you have some great trips planned in the near future. I'm sure they will go better than this one did. I will be looking forward to some nice fish pictures from you soon. Take care Lionel, no fishing for me yet still working all this weekend.

Never played Clear Springs but I am sure up here on the West Arm Meadow Springs would give it a run for the worst course north of Barrie. Lost 4 balls down the middle of the fairway as the grass is so high every shot is an adventure. Greens can only be described as dandelion infested with so many dead spots its like a land mine zone. Too bad because the back nine is fairly scenic.

Lionel I played one South of Lake of Bays somewhere and it was so primitive they had a honour system .....no clubhouse and nobody around at all. there was a wooden box hanging on the tree and you deposited your green fees in it and away you went. It was not expensive and it wasn't plush but it was a different kind of challenge for sure. We actually had a lot of fun laughing along the way of playing it.
